When I was taking my art exam at school all those many years ago, each student was given a topic to draw/paint.  My friend was given the topic of camouflage.  She painted a nice jungle scene with animals poking out.  What was I given? ....

...A BLOODY IRON, THAT'S WHAT!

That put me off artwork until now.  It has been many many many years later and I took up sketching again in October 2012.  It is now the beginning of May 2013 and already I think I have grown.  I have sketched pictures of my friends and one of Matt Smith.  I may be blowing my own trumpet but I think that I've done quite well.  It has even got to the stage when people are offering me money to sketch them.  I don't think I'm good enough...yet.  But, if I carry on, who knows?

Thanks to everyone on Deviantart.  Through your tutorials and pictures of artwork and the odd message I took up my pencil and started drawing again.

Have just come back from the best natural place that I have ever been to.  It covers Gloucestershire and Herefordshire in England and Monmouthshire in Wales.  The place is The Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley.

I will be adding photos of the area and hope you will agree with me although I do not think the photos will do the area justice.

A student asked me today, "Miss, what's your real name?"
I replied, "Mrs Conway is my real name, I didn't make it up."

Of course he wanted to know what my first name was.  It wasn't as silly as another student who asked, "Miss, what's your name outside of school?"
I replied, "Duh, it's the same as inside school."

These are secondary school students we are talking about, not primary!

I was just locking the door to the classroom where I was covering when my skirt felt funny. I thought it had slipped around. I had my hands full with my bag and laptop so with one hand I tried to turn the skirt around.  Only thing is, it hadn't moved around, the bloody zip had come undone and my skirt was falling down! I quickly shoved my laptop into a student's hand and pulled my skirt up before it completely fell off.

I must remember to do the top button up. I was soooo embarrassed. Thank God most of the students had left the corridor  Can you imagine how horrible it would be to work there if I had lost my skirt and the students had noticed?
